Hey, congrats with your new Smackbook (just don't smack it to the floor again . A colleague of mine has that same MBP 13", and I still am glad I bought the MBP 15" since the screen is at least workable .

Anyways, as far as compilers go, I stick with Xcode on the Mac. You'd need to install it anways, as it comes with the necessary frameworks, libs and compilers (gcc). The editor itself is also quite handy, integrates with SVN support (not that I use it) and takes care of compiling, error handling, comes with a debugger and diff and will also compile stuff into a regular .app file.

All in all, I like it, it works fine for me. And, like said, it's the best way to get a standard *NIX toolchain with stuff like GCC, make and X11.

Good luck. I think that http://trac.jorito.net/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/wiki/SDLToOSX will be a great help into creating a .app file!

Of course you can also use my project files in build/osx, and hope that the paths are allright.

And don't forget to download the necessary frameworks from libsdl.org and place them in /Library/Frameworks .
