I've always thought that Super Transball 2's graphics would need some improvements with the graphics, but now, I have done something about it. So here it is for you, who are intrested to download it:

Unofficial VISUAL UPGRADE for SUPER TRANSBALL 2 v1.4!

OK, it isn't as exciting as it might sound.  Actually it only upgrades the background graphics (earth, snow & tech) and few other things, including the title screen logo. Also two sound effects have been changed.

Just extract this to Transball 2's main folder and the graphic and sound files should go to their correct places. Don't worry about the original graphics and sounds, they are included in the VISUAL UPGRADE as a zip-files, in case you want to change back to them.

Well, what do you think guys? Gotta love the upgraded snow graphics.

Hopefully Santi doesn't get angry when he notices that I upgraded his graphics without asking from him first.  Well, this can always be deleted from the forums if that's the case.

What are you waiting for? Download it already!

WHAT!? NOT SURE IF IT'S WORTH THE EFFORT? LOOK AT THESE BEFORE AND AFTER SCREENSHOTS THEN:

I seriously need a new monitor, because my current one is showing colors too darkly. These graphics looks over bright in some parts.

the tiles_mask.pcx file is wrong! It's the file form v1.3 not the one from 1.4! The masks for the new enemies in the "Second Assault" level pack are not included!

I've to say that I like the new "fire" sfx! I do not like the "button press" one though. It's too "metalic".

About the graphics. Good work, I think that I'll stick to the old graphics, but it's a nice job! It's simply a sentimental question, since I draw those graphics about 10 years ago, and you now... they are flesh of my flesh and blood of my blood! (the Transball is even older, I think I draw it in my Amiga 500, then transferred it to PC using my AT-ONCE+ card)

But I agree with you that MOST of the graphics need an update!

About the wrong "tiles_mask.pcx" file: Oops, my bad.

Anyway, it doesn't matter if you don't decide to use the upgraded graphics, because I upgraded them for my personal use in a first place.  I just decided to upload them here, in case someone is intrested to use them.

By the way, here's a second release of the upgraded graphics.

9C844_ST2_Vis_Upgrade_R2.zip (also missing the v1.4 tiles mask)

Now every background graphics have been upgraded in some ways.  I wish that there would be a way to use an picture for making the sky.  After that, I would be very satisfied with the ST2 graphics.

Actually the background is simply a random star map. May be making it a bitmap is a better idea. I'll think about it.
